"The Gender & Sexuality Development Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has had the privilege of working with mothasistah for many years in partnership and in collaboration.  We have been consistently impressed by her expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication to fostering inclusivity and understanding with any audience and group she engages.  As an educator, public speaker, trainer , and commmunity mentor in LGBTQIA+ issues, mothasistah brings a rare combination of professional knowledge and personal insight from her own lived experiences that makes her both an inspiring and effective advocate for queer and trans youth and families.  mothasistah not only speaks from the core of her heart, but she demonstrates an authentic and profound commmitment to the well-being of trans and gender diverse people. Her ability to weave together research and evidence-based knowledge and information with her personal experiences makes training with mothasistah both thoughtful and empowering.  mothasistah's teaching style encourages radical empathy and invites any trainee to begin their own journey of self-discovery and perspective growth in how to better the world for our LGBTQIA+ communities and to make this world safer and more inclusive for all.  You will be lucky to work with mothasistah if you are able to! The Attic Youth Center’s mission is to create opportunities for Lesbian,  Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ) youth to  develop into healthy, independent, civic-minded adults within a safe and  supportive community and to promote the acceptance of LGBTQ youth in  society.

Many LGBTQ youth continue to experience prejudice and oppression in  their daily lives, which often leaves youth feeling isolated and  vulnerable. The Attic community helps provide youth with a sense of  belonging, connection, and understanding.

The Attic offers a wide  range of programs and services designed to provide youth with the  support and skills needed to transition into independent, thriving  adults. The Attic strives to have a positive impact on all aspects of  youth’s lives; to facilitate growth, empowerment, and resiliency; and to  help youth find their voice, which is often silenced.
